Donna Pepper took her CZT training in 2011. Zentangle has made her feel like an artist as never before. She started sewing clothing in high school, then with small children took an upholstery course. From there she went to canvas work, as in boat covers, sail bags, wind scoops, built in upholstered furniture.
Next phase was quilting, what a journey that was. In 1999 she had a stroke which left her right hand and arm semi-paralysed. She thought all her past experience was not of much use but did make small quilted art pieces. Then she happened on Zentangle and a whole new world opened up for her. As they say “Anyone can do it, one step at a time”.
Barb Round, retired nurse/administrator/teacher and lifelong quilter became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) in fall of 2011. She has been working with Vancouver Islanders to unlock their inner artists ever since and has introduced nearly 800 students to the joy of Zentangle in16 different towns (including side trips to Ottawa and Yellowknife). Barb was invited by CZT/authors Bekah Krahula, editor of "500 Tangle Artworks" and Suzanne McNeill, author of Zentangle 11, to contribute art for these new books, which were both released in 2015.
